Domain Names

Domain names are a type of internet property which represents the address of a particular resource.
Domain names, their purchase and their use are regulated by ICANN; however much regulation as to its use has been relaxed.
The two main types of domain names are top-level domain names and country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs).
The more popular top-level domain names suffixes are .com, .net, and .org.
The more popular country-code top-level domain name suffixes are .us, .cn and .uk.
